Now that AI are starting to make moral decisions, programmers may have to decide which morals.

Now that AI are starting to make moral decisions, programmers may have to decide which morals.

MIT Tech Reviews talks about applying a moral study to Machine Learning decisions like how to drive a car during an accident. If there is no other paths, should the AI aim for a large crowd of people or a single pedestrian.  If it is single pedestrian, should you aim for larger or smaller person? Older or younger? These are definite moral decisions the developer will have to program into the AI.

Wanted: A good home for very complete collection of original Inside Mac developer books.

Is there a university or computer museum that would like to have this collection? The collection includes almost everything Apple published. I do not have the space to keep these anymore, and really need to pass them on. This time I mean it!  Please contact me directly, thank you!

Online deceased friends

I am starting to have more than a few links/friendship with deceased friends. What does everyone do with accounts like that? I don't really want to Unfriend someone for this reason. Nor do I want to have Facebook or LinkedIn suggest that since it been awhile, I should send a message to this old friend. That is slightly spooky. Thoughts anyone?

Tech sites are keeping interest for an Apple AR device high.

Over the past 2 days, a number of tech sites have been posting beautiful images of speculated Apple AR glasses. The problem is, this was all generated by very little known facts. Some are based on vague “unnamed sources” while most of the articles are based on past Apple patent filings. I think everyone wants Apple to work on this, but we have so little solid information. Apple files a lot of patents, but not all of them end of in a product.

Large Studios are becoming more interested in games as service, and customer retention, than actually producing something better.

SwiftUI vs UIKit, it is not a matter what is better, but what it best for your current App. I suspect, given time, SwiftUI will become the standard.

Change in plans for today's posting.

My tech posting for today was going to be an article about “Over-experienced programmers”, but I disagreed so violently with the posting, that I am now going to write a counter argument for it. You will see my posting in the near future.

This years hot Tech topic appears to be Privacy, something everyone been calling for, but few developers do well.

Bill Gates says for all his faults, Steve Jobs was the very best as picking the talent and hyper motivating that talent.

During an interview by CNN’s Fareed Zakaria on How to Lead, Gates compared Steve Job’s to a major wizard, who could mesmerize people, while still behaving badly as a boss

Ps. Having worked for Jobs briefly, my personal opinion is that Steve never let failure, be it a feature, a product, or a company, stop his vision. If anything, he thrived on failures, as a way to make things better.
